I haven’t blogged since Monday. And based on what’s been happening here lately, I’m surprised I got that one in.
Tuesday the internet was going super-slow, again. Not sure what was going on.
The phone line for it went from scratchy with a spotty or slow connection to totally dead, yesterday.
Then our main line went out. The phone company was going to send someone out next Monday, but maybe since both lines were reported, they moved up the timetable. I’m glad they did.
Someone came out yesterday to get everything going again.
Apparently, mice had made a home in one of the outside phone boxes, and had even chewed through part of a line on the outside of the house (well, them, or a rabbit. Same result, right?)
I think time without technology is good, and all too often, myself included, we don’t like to be without it unless forced to be.
I had a breakthrough on a story that I’d hit a snag on–I couldn’t figure out which way to go with it.
I took a last look at some emails that I lined up to send to a client.
And I also took some time to do absolutely nothing, with no noise. I try to do that every night before bed. But it somehow made it different because I had to, at least on Tuesday night.
I had a lot of catching up to do, so I didn’t get the daily post in yesterday.
I was able to get some training materials for my next big project this morning. And I couldn’t have done that without an internet connection.
You don’t have to wait for the internet to be down to take time out. Take time to plan your day, or your month. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. It just has to open up your mind beyond today.
Give it a try.
Until next time,
