Daylight Savings, And A Prospect Plays Catch Up…

How’s it going? Did you get up at 2 a.m. last Sunday to turn your clocks back for Daylight Savings Time?

No? Me neither. Daylight Savings is part of the reason for this post actually. But first I have to say…

No comics in the Sunday paper a few days back. I think they had a fashion insert replace it. Just a general one—no Megan Fox or anything.

No comics is a bit of a bummer for me, but I don’t control what is or isn’t in the Chicago paper. Oh, well. Comics give me a laugh, as well as different writers’ perspectives on life (yes, in the comics—they’re there).

Back to Daylight Savings Time…

I had a consultation with a client yesterday who serves an animal market (which is why consultations are so darn FUN).

So, I called at the time we’d arranged, and he wasn’t there. All right. I left him a message, telling him maybe we got our wires crossed on time zone, and I’d call back later.

About ten minutes later the phone rings.

I pick it up, and the guy tells me he didn’t have his phone on him when I called, and maybe he’d gotten messed up by the time change.

So it’s not just me.

The “extra” hour is great, but sometimes undue stress is caused by what time the body THINKS it is, know what I’m saying?

Not sure if my prospect will have me write emails for his list (he had 4 or 5 other writers to do consults with first on this), but I hope he does.

He has expertise and a market willing to pay for information and insights he’s gleaned over his professional career.

And I also learned something I’d forgotten–I talked about my process, and only a little bit about the RESULTS this prospect was looking for. He told me what he wanted, and I don’t know if I communicated well enough that I could help him achieve his goal.

All right, that’s enough of that. What about Daylight Savings Time and you? Have you had any mishaps or close calls? Needless rushing around? Embarrassing reminder calls that didn’t need to be made? Drop me a line in the comments.

And yes, if you’re wondering, I’m still adjusting, even after 4 days.

It’ll be Fab Fiction Friday in a couple days. Be sure to swing by.

Until next time,

About Ty Mall

Thanks for stopping by. I've almost always been interested in writing, among other things. Along with discovering pop culture, I've uncovered a lot about the craft over the past 10 years. And whether you're a fiction writer or email copywriter, I'm here to pass on what I've found out. And have a ton of fun in the process.
