How’s your week been so far? Mine’s been busy, but I did find time to do some cleaning yesterday. Which is also, between that and learning a sort-of-new skill/program, why I didn’t post that day.
And also why it took me several hours (or so it seemed), to deep-clean my room. Which is the only one of its kind up there with carpet.
Olive green carpet. The kind of carpet that when anything falls on it, you know, because it’s so NOT like anything else around it.
And it’d been a while since I vacuumed, so some parts of the carpet were gray from dust. And cleaning all that up felt really good.
Which reminded me of the prompt for today.
Your Triple F prompt today for Fabulous Fiction Friday is:
Your character is cleaning a room. As they’re going along, they find something they haven’t seen in a while, or had lost. What is it, and what does it mean for them?
The setting is totally up to you here (asteroid, plain room of a house, airlock, cockpit, what-have-ya).
And the gender/makeup of the character (male, female, robot, alien, animal–I didn’t say the character had to be human–do bears have a reason to clean? If not, feel free to invent one).
The plot is just cleaning, in part. Why is the character cleaning? Why now and not a week ago? No time? Distraction? Both? Sad or worried about something? All of these reasons and more will impact the character, as well as…
What the object is. A love letter? Old picture? A favorite old toy? A love letter that mentions a favorite old toy? Don’t know. That’d be for you to dream up and work through.
This is fiction, and that’s the fun part.
About a week and a half left of March to go.
Make it a great weekend, with good memories, all right?
Until next week,
