How’s it going?
Every Friday, we have a prompt here at Fiction and Copy Decoded.
So for today’s Fabulous Fiction Friday prompt:
Across clue 1: Out of ___, kaput (10 letters)
Across clue 2: Out of ___, in poor shape (9 letters)
These clues are in different spots of the puzzle, and don’t intersect at all.
Well, first of all, I have “commission” and “condition,” in that order, for these clues.
We have no character, setting, or plot. Just a couple vague suggestions. Meaning there’s more to come up with, but that’s part of the fiction fun here.
What if a guy has something happen to him, where he gets healthier, from the outside in, the better he does at work? Maybe that’s a little too everyday. How about because he’s being experimented on by genius nanotech robots? Okay. There we go.
Or how about a woman who’s condition gets worse as her stock portfolio improves? What could be causing it? Is it just jitters and worry, or something deeper? (There’s a nice one for you copywriters to take on, if you haven’t already–especially since this idea injects curiosity into the mix).
What about a stock-trading robot program who’s decided he’s had enough and wants to break out into the real world, because people keep staring at him all day, and he wants to see on the other side of the glass, so to speak? If he’s just a program, how many places is he installed? What could happen if he succeeds? How would he react if he fails? Would he have the capability to blame someone else? Or would he find a solution to his problem, or fry trying?
One more full week of September, and then it’s done. The weather’s going to start getting colder more consistently, and…don’t remind me. I say we’ll deal with it when (and if) it arrives.
Make it an awesome weekend, with good memories, all right?
Until next time (and week),
