Triple F: Crossword Clues 17

How’s your week been? Mine’s been good so far (after all, it is almost over).

Every Friday, we hit the fiction train, so to speak, with a writing prompt. I’ve been on a crossword kick lately. And kinda have been touting it. For years, or almost years.

Anyway, let’s get to it.

Your prompt for Fabulous Fiction Friday, aka Triple F, is:

Across clue: ___ by (obey): (5 letters)

Down clue: male mallards (6 letters)

What happens now?

Okay. The fun stuff. First of all, I have “abide” and “drakes” here. That all depends on what  you’d like to do–almost nothing is suggested about plot here, except obedience/abiding/sticking by someone or something. However you want to take it.

We could have a story about someone who takes care of a duck (all right, that’s a bit too normal for me, even though there is a place for that. “Normal” being regular fiction people doing regular people things).

Or we could have a talking duck who everyone knows is a talking duck, and have hilarity ensue when someone new moves into the space station, or what-have-ya. Which gives the added bonus of figuring out why people are on a space station with a talking duck.

Makes me laugh. All that honking, and trying to figure out where the water plants are. Unless that’s just the people. Unless the duck is really in control, with an IQ of about 398, and things are going to get feathery real, real, soon…

All right, that should be enough to start with.

November 2015 is about gone, here. About another week and a half.

Make it an awesome weekend, with good memories, all right?

Until next time (and week),

Ty

And whether you're a fiction writer or email copywriter, I'm here to pass on what I've found out. And have a ton of fun in the process.
