Why I (Try to) Write Every Day…

How’s your week been so far? Mine’s been busy. I sent off what I hope will be the final draft of the bigger of my two edits today–that’s a load off my mind (and keyboard).

Which brings me to the fact that with all the edits flying around, my writing output has decreased markedly. That’s on me, but I have to confront what is, here. I do journal every day, or try to.

To answer the “why” of this post…

Because it’s a good thing, a lifetime skill, and something I don’t want to lose.

That’s the short of it.

Not to mention that it’s something I need to do more of–a lot more.

I mean more character sketches, more fiction, more thinking up subject lines, P.S.’s, or what-have-ya. To actively put into practice what I’ve learned, and on a regular basis.

Why do you write?

In another post (which I’ll be on the hook for now), I should talk about WHY I’ve put off a lot of writing (except for two promo articles for a friend’s nonprofit org). But that will have to wait.

Until next time,

Ty

About Ty Mall

Thanks for stopping by. I've almost always been interested in writing, among other things. Along with discovering pop culture, I've uncovered a lot about the craft over the past 10 years. And whether you're a fiction writer or email copywriter, I'm here to pass on what I've found out. And have a ton of fun in the process.
