How’s it going? This week’s almost wrapped up, and I hope you’ve made it as awesome as you could.
I recently upgraded my word processing software this week, which somehow led to a whole host of problems I’m still dealing with, which may be the subject of another post…
But for now, let’s get to it.
One of the changes to the help menu was a box with a statement in it that I thought was really cool.
And cool genuinely equals inspiration around here, which usually leads to the Triple F prompt for the week.
Here we go:
Your character sees, hears, or reads this statement: “Tell me what you want to do.”
What happens next?
We can go in about 1,200 directions/angles with this. We only have a plot point here–no gender, background, or what-have-ya on character, or any hint of a setting, so those would be up to you.
Your character wants to BECOME something–like an astronaut, or a quadrillionaire?
Your character wants to DO something–like climb a mountain or ask a beautiful woman out?
Your characters wants to HAVE SOMETHING FOR OTHERS–like help out a sick relative who’s on the space station and needs medical attention–and the supplies have run out? (Had to get the not-normal-stuff-too-much angle in there, with the space station).
And we could mix it up even more with the source of the statement…
Does your character read this on a computer screen?
Or do the clouds break open, there’s brilliant sun, and they hear a voice?
Or is it a friendly anniversary prank played by college buddies?
And how would any of that factor in to what happens next?
Anyway that’s about it for today, to get you started.
January 2016 is halfway over or so.
Make it a great weekend, with good memories, all right?
Until next time (and week),
