Triple F: Sweat It Out, Literally?

How was your week? Except for getting a mild case of heat exhaustion, my week was all right.

Anyway, let’s get to it for today. For Triple F, I thought I’d do things a little bit differently…

So for this week, your prompt for Fabulous Fiction Friday is:

Your character sweats, and when they do, they know something is off. What is it, and where do things go from here?

That’s one of the things I do–use real life to inspire fiction. All right, enough of that. I thought of a couple different things, and we’ll get into those, after you pick out your character’s gender, backstory, and what-have-ya to put in here. Being sweaty is not a full plot point, after all.

What if…

The character is sweating words, because it’s all they’ve been thinking about lately? How would having whole sentences slip down their arms and legs make them feel? Would people look at him or her funny? Do they live in a society/world where this is normal? How would that change things up?

Or what if a giant lady starts sweating, and entire civilizations she’s absorbed over her long life traveling the stars leak out? Are those previous civilizations destructive? Did they give her knowledge, power, or what-have-ya? Where are they going now that they’re free? Will she lose what she gained from absorbing them or not?

That’s enough to get the snowball rolling down the hill. And as a side point, that’s how easy it is to turn something simple into a prompt for a fiction story (with sales materials like emails or sales letters you can do it too, but there’s a tiny bit of pivoting that’s involved).

Anyway, we’re officially two days into September 2016.

Make it a great weekend, with good memories, all right?

Until next time (and week),

A word on my book–today is close to a holiday weekend (Labor Day), and my book still has to have an illustration tweaked. So I’ll have to think about a release after Labor Day, sometime.

About Ty Mall

Thanks for stopping by. I've almost always been interested in writing, among other things. Along with discovering pop culture, I've uncovered a lot about the craft over the past 10 years. And whether you're a fiction writer or email copywriter, I'm here to pass on what I've found out. And have a ton of fun in the process.
