How’s your week been so far? Great last day of the month, huh? For some reason I enjoy writing to you on the first or last days of the month–it’s special somehow…the end of one thing flowing into the beginning of another.
Well, today’s Friday. And that means Fabulous Fiction Friday, aka Triple F aka fiction awesomeness of your own making (with a little help from someone…me).
Let’s get to it for today.
As I’ve said before, and will continue to say, always, always, always use everything you see, hear, smell, taste, and what-have-ya that you experience to fuel your fiction and copywriting efforts, whether for yourself or your clients.
The approximate double-park of my college campus adventure post was kinda weird (for some reason I sent it off and then scheduled it to be posted later…maybe you didn’t see it twice, I dunno–here’s hoping you didn’t).
So, if we combine that little bit of double vision with me and a bit of fiction flair, your prompt for Triple F this week is:
Your character double- or multi-parks something, but it’s not a car or truck.
All right, let’s fiction (there I go again, making stuff up). Okay, you can do a van or a Jeep or what-have-ya if you want (I’m too weird for that, though).
We have like one plot point–practically nothing to speak of. Which is why it leaves everything wide open for you.
You’ll have to figure gender, backstory, and more, as well as what’s being double parked, why it is or isn’t a pain, and any consequences from it.
Clarissa parks her awesome two-headed tigers that pull her bale-fire chariot right across three VIP spots of the hottest nightclub in the quadrant…with the chariot close enough to set everything on fire. A fire that she can control (maybe). If people around here don’t know who she is, they may try to stop her, or tell her to move her vehicle. Or, once she shows them what she’s made of, maybe not…
Or how about Howard? Seems like he could be boring, right? What if he’s the offspring of a 20-foot robot and the most powerful Oolat princess ever to live? And what if he takes up an entire row of parking outside a Midwest diner…in a quad-decker space transport that dwarfs a lot of the houses in town? What is he doing there? What if it’s more than tasting a good cheeseburger?
All right, that’s enough to get the snowball rolling down the mental hill, so to speak.
March is on its way out, and tomorrow is April 1st–which is the 1st anniversary of the passing of my Uncle Jerry (actually my great uncle). It will be a great time for thinking back, and about thinking ahead too.
Make it an awesome weekend, with good memories, all right?
Until next time (and week),
