Trying and Not Succeeding…

How’s it going? Sometimes I try to force things, and a lot of the time, it doesn’t end well at all.

Anyway, let’s get to it.

Today was a bit of a case in point. I’ve been trying to get more sleep to help heal this voice thing a little quicker (if that’s possible). But sometimes if I set out to “try” to sleep, nothing happens.

Same thing if I’m out and about in between stores on a shopping trip (after shopping’s done and before I travel to the next stop) and I *try* to write. Maybe I haven’t conditioned myself well enough that “okay it’s time to get to work now” or what-have-ya. If I’m out of my office (of sorts–it’s just a corner of my bedroom at this point), I can’t write, or I almost can’t write.

Sometimes it’s easier to switch to another task (or to just stay up, as the case may be).

Does this happen to you? How do you deal with it? Drop me a line in the comments.

Until next time,

About Ty Mall

Thanks for stopping by. I've almost always been interested in writing, among other things. Along with discovering pop culture, I've uncovered a lot about the craft over the past 10 years. And whether you're a fiction writer or email copywriter, I'm here to pass on what I've found out. And have a ton of fun in the process.
