After Trying the Third Jumble Another Time, I Had to Do This…

How’s it going? Still having internet problems at this point, which is what I’d like to talk about a little more.

Let’s get to it.

I got the new router last night, and hooked it up. Or I tried to. I spent a ton of time looking for the passwords/codes/what-have-ya to log in after things were hooked up, and couldn’t find it…only to discover them on the bottom of router itself. (I’m rolling my eyes, even though you can’t see.)

It turned out none of those number-and-letter jumbles got me logged in, though. I even tried each of the three codes/lines two times each, just in case I mis-typed something the first time.

So I have to call the tech people–maybe after we get things straightened out, my laptop won’t be limping anymore.

As a writer, sometimes you’ll need help. Maybe from a trusted friend, subject expert in what you’re writing about, an editor who works on your genre of story or copy, or what-have-ya.

Sometimes you can only get so far on your own. That depends on a lot of factors, but regardless, someone else’s opinion can help you break through blocks or confirm the direction you were going. (Just about the only other way out I’ve heard is research.)

I’ve also heard generalities about people who never want their writing touched, but I’ve never met one of them (at least that I know of). Maybe I’m too open to suggestions–I dunno.

If someone else’s suggestions end up making my story better, who am I to say no?

Tomorrow is Triple F. Be sure to stop by.

Until next time,

Ty

About Ty Mall

Thanks for stopping by. I've almost always been interested in writing, among other things. Along with discovering pop culture, I've uncovered a lot about the craft over the past 10 years. And whether you're a fiction writer or email copywriter, I'm here to pass on what I've found out. And have a ton of fun in the process.
